24% of Fatalities Occur in Just 50 Counties

An interactive map published by the National Roadway Safety Strategy (NRSS) shows concentration of roadway fatalities by county. As you can see, the data shows that 24% of all roadway fatalities occur in just 50 counties.

There were  42,939 lives lost  on U.S. roads in 2021, with more than 12 fatalities per county per year.
